Hollow
After 9/11, our national capacity for fear knew no bounds. In this allegorical one-act play, a father’s stubborn determination results in his family becoming lost deep in a forest in the midst of a terrible storm. Despite it being his fault, rather than listen to his kids who know the way out, the father insists that they all seek refuge in a hollow tree. The consequences of this father’s intransigence and his wife’s 1950’s era compliance do lead to safety but at a terrible price.
