Consumption
I was intrigued to watch couples entering Costco with an empty shopping cart and subsequently exiting, often with a full one. What (and why!) were they buying? I decided to dramatize watershed moments in the life-cycle of a couple by using the common-place act of shopping as the vehicle. The three scenes: launching a family; coping with loss; and facing the end are played out as couples enter and exit a Costco-like megastore talking about what they did and didn’t buy.
