Oakland Triptych

For a couple of years I traveled every month from the Oakland International Airport to Los Angeles. I took notes on the more interesting, one-sided, cell-phone conversations that I overhead while waiting for flights and then used material from my 3 favorites to shape into a triptych: the husband who breaks up with his wife by cell phone; the older single guy whose attempted flirtations by phone are decades out of date; the young pop singer, on her way to the big time, who needs money from mom to get there These stories capture a moment in time in contemporary America.

Performance length: 12-15 minutes

2 males: 40's or 50's (or double cast)
