A Day in the Life of Fort Ross

I was commissioned by the Fort Ross Conservancy to write six, fifteen-minute historic reenactments that, taken together, would provide a contemporary audience with an insiders' view into the lives of some of the people who populated the Russian America Company's commercial Fortress Ross, north of San Francisco, during the first half of the 20th century. Working from a treatment developed by historian and costume designer, David Rickman, and with guidance from expert members of the Fort Ross Conservancy, the scenarios breathe life into some of the fascinating characters who helped set the stage for what became the U.S. state of California.
